Whoa-oa-oa! I Smell Good!
NaBloPoMo day 23...Thanksgiving is over, but National Blog Posting Month has one more week to go. I can almost smell the finish line as I carry on writing about things for which I am thankful every day of November!
I love when I have the opportunity to dress a little nicer than I do for my work as a daycare provider. Thanksgiving yesterday was one of those days where I took the time to look and smell a little nicer. Fragrance is important to me...it is like an article of clothing. I have my "everyday" fragrance for my everyday life, then I have my special fragrances for special occasions. Among my winter wardrobe of perfumes is my absolute favorite which I wore yesterday...

Sweater Girl
Welcome to my daily post for NaBloPoMo! Day nine, and I'm doing just fine writing throughout the month of November about things for which I am thankful.
Tonight will be the first time since our weather turned cool that I want to dress nicely, (not in sweats) so it's time to lay eyes on my sweaters which I haven't seen since April. I love sweaters...I would wear a sweater every day if weather would allow. Not being a fashionista, I am content with my collection of classic style sweaters that suit my figure. Opening my sweater chest is like visiting old friends...

Awesome Autumn
I'm not going to write one of those sappy 'Ode to an Autumn Day' platitudes here, but I do want to share how much I adore the Fall. It is without question my favorite time of year. I am so pleased it is near!
We live in the Midwest and this is my impression of the seasons here...
Spring is too unpredictable and volatile...extremes of too cold, or too warm, or too wet.
Summer is unbearable! It is far too hot and I HATE HUMIDITY!
Winter seems endlessly gray, and storms just make life unpleasant and inconvenient.
Autumn...well, that's another story! Give me bright sunny days between 50 and 70 degrees, and I am a happy girl! This time of year seems to fit my temperament, too. I prefer the shorter length of daylight, the cooler temperatures, the brilliant colors of the turning leaves. I am always relieved when everything seems to calm down after the hustle-bustle of summer. I love wearing sweaters, sleeping with the window open covered by a light blanket...heaven! I love taking a bike ride when the weather is crisp, and there is that Autumn scent in the air that absolutely invigorates my soul!

Gina's Quote Du Jour (Harris)
"Nothing can be so amusingly arrogant as a young man who has just discovered an old idea and thinks it is his own." - Sidney J. Harris.
I love to learn about history, and the more I learn, the more I know that there are very few new ideas under the sun...just ones I haven't heard before. I have definitely noticed this happening as the years go by...especially in fashion. The younger girls think they are the first to look so cool, but I wore virtually the same thing in the '70s...!
Of course it happens in every area... music/arts, science, politics, philosophy/religion...but I automatically think clothes because I am shallow and vapid...
