For the third consecutive year I'm participating in National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo). The rules are simple: Write on your blog every day during the month of November. That's it.
I am the type of person who needs a theme to help me stay on task, however; so while blogging on a theme is not necessary to participate, I always choose one on which to base my posts.
Two years ago, my theme was, "Things For Which I'm Thankful." Last year I wrote, "Thirty Words For Thirty Days."

NaBloPoMo '09 - I'm In!
This year my theme was inspired by combining a passion and some friendly cajoling. Allow me to explain: A friend from Wisconsin is participating in a "Haiku a day for 100 days" challenge. Gregg has challenged both Scott and myself to join him in this masochistic endeavor...
Haiku, in case you are unfamiliar, is a Japanese form of poetry that is based upon a syllable pattern. The pattern is, First line = 5 syllables, second line = 7 syllables, third line = 5 syllables.
One hundred Haiku seemed inconceivable but somehow I've rationalized that 30 - one for every day of NaBloPoMo - would be completely doable...
So for NaBloPoMo this year I am going to write one Haiku per day (and here comes the passion part) based upon a photo of one of our cats. I'm calling it "Hai-cat."

I love haiku -- nice job on your first NaBloPoMo. For a crazed second, I considered doing it as well, but I snapped myself out of it. I'll be cheering you both along!
