What's Cookin'? 7/13/08

Yesterday I was faced with a long, boring car ride to Ravinia, a not-so-local music venue to see - well, to be honest - hear the fabulously entertaining Lyle Lovett. Scott's brother and sister-in-law gave Scott tickets to the concert for his birthday, and we had a wonderful time. We thank them greatly for a beautiful evening.

But that car ride is interminable! Thankfully I was merely the passenger, so I made the best of my ample free time by planning the meals I plan to cook this week. Behold the fruits of my labors...

Italian Chicken "Stirfry" w/ Broccoli Florets & Red Peppers over Penne Pasta

Beef Kabobs w/ Red Peppers, Vidalia Onions & Cremini Mushrooms & Couscous w/ Garlic & Walnuts

Hot Dogs, French Fries & Mixed Greens Salad

Sub Sandwiches & Homemade Potato-Corn Chowder

Orange-Honey Glazed Mahi Mahi, Rice Pilaf w/ Toasted Almonds & Oven-Roasted Asparagus w/ Garlic

Biscuits & Sausage Gravy & Fresh Fruit Salad

Not a bad use of some spare time, huh?

Not a bad use at all. But I can handle drives. It's the flights that make me want to rip my eyeballs out. As for the meal planning, I've got my pages tagged, but we'll see how organized I am with it. So far, yakisoba is on the menu for tomorrow. I have a friend who just returned from Japan and she said bring something Japanese. Google...

Hi!

Yeah...yakisoba is a new word on me, but I am familiar with the dish, or something similar. Sounds delicious, and I'm sure your version rocked! It sounds like something I would like to make someday, so if you found a good recipe, I would love to see it!

How did we survive before Google?! How did any information get disseminated? It boggles the mind!
