I have seen other bloggers' "100 Things" lists (most recently on Elle's Blog, Maxwell the Tattooed Boy and Other Astounding Joys and a couple weeks ago on Cardiogirl). I thought, "That would be impossible for me to write...I don't even have 100 things!" I think I'm in the mood to tackle something impossible today, so here goes...

My wonderful wife Gina recently posted her 100 Things About Moi and even though we have been together for 16 years, I learned quite a bit about her from it. Thinking that it might be interesting for others to have the chance to learn some obscure things

"I have had (and continue to have) absolutely no desire to attend a high school reunion."
And sister, your parents were busy. I am the youngest of six, and there are 13 years between me and my oldest sibling. Although there was a miscarriage between me and number 5, so my parents were busy, too. Just not as quickly as yours.
And your sister was 15 when she made you an aunt? Wow.
While my parents were indeed "busy" as you say, they took a 12 year break from the baby making between me and the rest. So I am way younger than the rest of my sibs. The closest in age is 12 years older than I, then they go up to my oldest sis who was 21 when I was born.
The sister who made me an aunt is actually the third from oldest, and she was married and 21 herself when she had her first daughter.
I'm sure there are MANY family scandals (many of which I am no doubt blissfully unaware) but this is not one of them...
I hope I've cleared that up! Nice of me to defend the reputation of a sister who doesn't even speak to me, huh? That's just me, I guess...just a sucker!
Sorry for the confusion!
Expect an email soon!
That was amazing. 100 things about you. I do not know that I could, would or should sit down and do the same thing. I learned alot about you just reading through the 100 things about you. Thanks for sharing. It sounds as though Scott is a name that has been in your life for a long , long time.
Carole
Yeah...the name Scott and mine seem always to be linked...
At least my "now" Scott didn't abandon me by going off to another school for first grade!
It really is an introspective exercise...it shakes up a lot of dusty memories and also gets you thinking about what makes you unique.
And Gina? Crayons are totally stinky. Now, new text books are something else. And white paste. It tastes great, too.
LOVED your list.
Are you REALLY that tall? Wow.
How long did it take you to put this list together?
Impressive.
I'm glad we have so many things in common... It makes me feel a bit less weird.
If we should ever meet, I'll be sure not to wear my crayola cologne because I wouldn't want to offend!
Yes...I am all of 60" tall...(sigh)
Surprisingly, it only took a day and a half of jotting down an idea every time something would occur to me. Once I started, the ideas really came rushing forward.
I'm glad you enjoyed the list! It was my intention that it inform and entertain!
PS my feet are even smaller than yours. I don't choose shoes, they choose me. I'm just so delighted to find anything at all in my size.
I totally know what you mean about shoes... I buy what's available, not what I see that's cute on display! On the bright side, sometimes children's sizes cost a little less...
Thanks for stopping by...I hope to hear from you again!
5 - which is why I have a niece who is older than I am
21 - your cooking makes me happy too
76 - donuts I can live without but...
81 - and you thought the cat boxes were bad
As for the Godfather...it took you to finally convince me I was living an incomplete life having not seen it! You complete me...oops, wrong movie!
Well, Patty's only a couple years older...
Cooking makes me happy partially because it brings the happy to you!
I'm glad I'm not Daniel Joseph too! I think things worked out for the best...
Can you imagine how big elephant boxes are?!
So, I've gotta ask. What made your tolerance of Billy Joel snap? :o)
Welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed reading my list! I will go and check out your 70 things!
Boy, the Billy Joel question is tough to answer... While I can't say I was ever a huge fan of his to begin with, I would listen and no doubt enjoyed a few of his songs through the years - until recently. I remember the day it happened... My husband and I were at Sears and "Just The Way You Are" started playing. I was immediately seized with a sense of revulsion. His voice grated on my nerves, the music sounded tedious - I just couldn't stand it! It was the same reaction many people have to fingernails scratching on a chalkboard.
So it wasn't a specific thing that happened...it was me. My brain changed, and now I can't listen to any of his songs without shuddering. All I know is I'm done with Billy Joel music forever.
That's the best I can do as far as an explanation.
Sorry, Billy...
I found my way over here from Scott's blog, and enjoyed your list, so I thought I'd say hi.
Hi.
I'm right there with you on water (my favorite drink...but don't tell my beer-drinking buddies that, ok?), karma, spelling, and having a book published someday.
And I love your idea of God and Santa Claus being roomies!
Thanks for stopping by and reading my list! It was really fun to write, but I think I'm a bit tired of thinking about myself now!
I hope you'll come read again soon!
Good luck with your writing aspirations! (Oh, and your water secret is safe with me!)
As for #27....could you come over once a week?
Mom
I think it's those little quirky things about a person that really makes you feel like you know them...so now you know a few more of my quirks!
I think and hope that blogging regularly is training me to have good "writer discipline" so I'll be in good shape to tackle my book when the time is right.
The commute to your house may eat up a bit of my blogging time every week, but sure, I'd be happy to do your laundry!
I got the second piercing in each ear in 1990 I think.
The third one in my left ear is an interesting story... Before we were married, my husband got his left ear pierced, as was the style in the early '90s. The woman who did it said the studs came as a pair and although the piercing was free, you had to buy 2 earrings. So I had her pierce my left ear for the extra earring!
93. As a child I was convinced that God and Santa Claus lived together, since they had identical knowledge of my behavior.
I loved your list! Having worked with Scott (rather Scott saving my computer life!) I knew you were a fabulous cook and marveled at the wonderful dishes you plan and prepare. It's fun to see how much we have in common - I too can do a cartwheel although I pay for it later!! Thanks for conjuring up the memories!
I'm so glad you visited my blog! Welcome and I hope you'll visit often!
I feel like I kind of know you via Scott. Glad you enjoyed the list...probably more than you wanted to know about me, right?
I know exactly what you mean about Scott saving your computer life - he's saved mine more times than I can remember! What would we do without him, huh?
This list was fun to make. Actually everything about my blog is fun. I'm happy you like the menus too.
I hope you'll be back to see what's cookin' soon.
Gina
cats complete me too, couldnt be without one.
