In honor of this, the first day of November and of
NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) I am going to kick off my month-long series of posts about
things for which I am thankful by writing about my
beloved blog.
I have only been blogging for four months, but I can say definitively that in that short time the experience has changed my life for the better. Here's what blogging has done for me:
Now that I have a place to write, I do. I used to
think and
talk all the time about how much I wanted to be a writer. Neither of those activities constitute writing, however.
I am thankful that now that my amazingly talented Sweetie,
Scott, created this blog for me, I have the ideal place in which to express my feelings and exercise my writer's muscles. I
am a writer now...I write nearly every day because I have an attractive and meaningful format in which to do so.
Now that I have a reason to write, I do. I love the fact my mind effortlessly adopted the habit of thinking about topics on which I'd like to write. I appreciate what having the anticipation - on a daily basis - of expressing myself in writing has done to enhance the way mind functions. I've reached the point where I feel a day is incomplete without some time spent intimately with my keyboard!
My confidence is increased because of the encouraging feedback I've received about my writing. I appreciate the thoughtful people who have made such complementary comments on my writing! These comments mean so much to me...
I am thankful for such generous praise! I have heard from them that I am an excellent writer, and that I should write professionally. A few have even suggested I write a book, and to that I respond, "From your mouth to God's ears!"
My world is bigger because of the lovely people with whom I've come into contact through our shared interest in blogging. My world as a daycare provider is rather small, which is another way of saying, "I don't get out much!" My opportunities for meeting like-minded people in my current situation are limited, so it is absolutely thrilling to meet fellow bloggers and blog readers who enjoy writing, writing about writing and reading what I write.
I am thankful for all of you, too!
So, to illustrate just how
thankful I am for my blog, I am going to blog it silly, especially this month!
