...but not right now. While my Sweetie has embarked on a project called National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), I am serving as his most enthusiastic supporter and his “biggest fan” - but not in the creepy Stephen King context... (There will be no hobbling around here.)
No, for the time being, I’m content with the writing I am privileged to be hired to do for my clients. I’m currently plenty busy in the word department and so, although I almost envy the verve with which I see Scott delving into this endeavor, I know that this particular challenge is not for me at this point in my life.
That doesn’t mean, however, that the whole, “birth of a novel,” creative and productive atmosphere hasn’t inspired me. In honor of this new dawn within our household, one with an outlook of hope and health and passion, I’m embarking this first day of November on my very own project. I have dubbed it, National Just Get It Done Already Month (NaJuGeDoMo). While my Sweetie spends a few hours a day on his writing, I’ll be spending a few of my own doing those things in my life that just fall by the wayside in the course of day-to-day life. You know the types of things I mean: cleaning closets, clearing clutter, taking on distasteful or seemingly impossible tasks. Those things. And there are plenty of them around here - believe me. There are issues to address in the garage, in the basement, in closets and right out in the open. So this is the time. Like we decided when the idea of NaNo WrMo came up again this year: There’s no reason not to give it a go. Nothing to lose. Much to gain. November is going to be an enlightening and constructive month around here.
First up on my “Bite the Bullet” list is cleaning out the refrigerator. Not just straightening and making sure there’s nothing rotting away in the back - but really CLEANING it - wiping it down and making it all sparkly and hygienic once again. It’s long overdue, I’m dreading it, but I’m gonna tackle it today. As God as my witness, I will have a clean refrigerator by sunset!
In the spirit of these November challenges where some action is required on a daily basis, I’ll post about my progress on my own project, just so I don’t feel like I’m cheating on the rules. Besides, I do enjoy blogging, even though you wouldn’t know it from my absence here. Maybe I’ll get back in the habit of that too.
